About Cara
My career as a musician and Music Therapist over the last decade has allowed me the privilege to bring music to the most beautiful variety of people and places all over New England. No matter how unique each individual, family, or gathering of people I have met along the way, music serves as the consistent, universal language that brings meaning to life. I am filled with gratitude for each person who has invited me to share in that connection in years past and for those I have yet to meet in years to come.
When asked what I do for work, I often reply “I am a Music Therapist by day and a performing musician by night!” I am proud of these two separate but connected careers. Both have given me the opportunity to grow as a musician (vocalist and instrumentalist), as a songwriter, as a stage performer, as a clinician, as a professional, and as a business woman. Most importantly, both careers have grown/expanded my awareness and respect to the sensitivity of my role as a hired musician. I have sung lullabies to newborn babies and lullabies to those at end of life. I have planned playlists for celebrations of loved ones who never thought they’d make it to another birthday or wedding anniversary. I have sung the Ave Maria in countless church funerals and have sung “A Thousand Years” in dozens of wedding ceremonies.
